Minimal design is often beautiful, but it can also hide too much. For ADHD users, out of sight can become out of mind very quickly.
1. Why "clean" design can still feel confusing
A clean interface is not always a clear interface. If the next action is hidden, the user may miss it completely.
2. Why ADHD users need visible anchors
Visible anchors tell the eye where to go: clear buttons, strong labels, obvious checkboxes, visible progress, and readable spacing.
3. Why high contrast can help
High contrast can make the interface feel more physical and easier to scan. But contrast should not mean chaos.
4. How interaction creates momentum
Checking a box, seeing progress move, or starting a short timer gives feedback. Good design helps the user keep going.
FAQ
- Why not use very smooth, subtle animations?
- Subtle animations can be easy to miss. Clear, simple motion helps users understand that something changed without adding too much visual noise.
